Takeaways from the most important Apple event of the year
Recently, Apple held its most important product event at its new $5 billion headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. This event by Apple is one of the most anticipated event of the year as they unveil a slew of new products every year. This year the event took place on 12th September and as always a lot of hype and rumours were created about the new products that Apple was supposed to launch.
Here are the key takeaways from the Apple’s flagship event in case you missed the live streaming:
Apple iPhone X with Face ID
“The biggest leap forward since the original iPhone” said CEO Tim Cook.
This year’s iPhone will have no home button, it will unlock using facial recognition called Face ID. Face ID will replace Touch ID for the first time ever, since the iPhone 5S.
The new technology by Apple is so advanced that if recognizes you even if you change your hairstyle and wear glasses. This new model of iPhone will have a swipe up gesture which will help it’s users unlock their phone. Dust and water resistant, iPhone X will come with a glass on the front and back and a surgical grade stainless steel bands around the side, which will help this iPhone gets charged wirelessly.
Cost: iPhone X starts at $999
Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
A decent upgrade to the predecessor, iPhone 8 will have better camera specs with 12 MP dual cameras and all new sensor, deeper pixels and optical image stabilization.
iPhone 8 will also be water and dust resistant, can shoot 4k video and has the new A11 chip, which is reportedly the most powerful and smartest chip in any smartphone right now.
Cost: iPhone 8 starts at $699 while iPhone 8 plus starts at $799. iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is due for release on September 22nd.
Apple Watch Series 3 with built in cellular
The all new watch by Apple will let their users call directly from their watch. Apple Watch series 3 will also have a dual core processor and Siri can now talk back on it. This watch is smart and can notify you when it detects an elevated heart rate when you don’t appear to be active and can detect arrhythmia, when your heart beats irregularly.
The best part is that you can stream 40 million songs on it.
Cost: Two versions: $329 for regular and $399 with cellular. This is due for release on September 22nd.
Apple TV 4K HDR
Everyone was waiting for this update by Apple. Apple finally unveiled this long anticipated upgrade to its Apple TV set-box, which is now capable of playing movies and TV shows at 4K Ultra HD resolution.
The hardware is much more powerful than the prior model, it now features an A10X Fusion processor. Those upgraded internals will allow for a smoother playback of 4K content at up to 60 frames per second. Consumers can enjoy every movie they want available in 4K HDR in iTunes.
Cost: Apple TV 32GB: $149; Apple TV 4K 32GB $179 and 64GB $199.
